5.4.2 Starting air shut-off valve
The starting air shut-off valve supplies the starting air pipe with starting air. The starting air shut-
off valve has a hand-wheel with three positions:

CLOSED
•
AUTO
•
OPEN.

With the lever (018, Figure 5-26) you can lock the valve in the selected position. During usual
operation the starting air shut-off valve is in position AUTO.
Starting air flows through the starting air inlet (008) into the inlet chamber (012), then through
the balance bore (009) into the valve space (002). The spring (006) and the pressure in the
valve space (002) keep the valve (007) closed.
