Microscope accessories, changing
You can change the microscope accessories in reverse order to that described
before.
• Turn off the device at the power switch beforehand.
• Bring the suspension arm in a position convenient for you and tighten
friction adjustment knob (1).
• After changing the accessories, re-adjust the friction as required.
NOTE Risk of injury!
The swivel arm may move downward when auxiliary equipment is changed.
• Make sure that the maximum permissible load on the suspension arm is
not exceeded.
• Rebalance the suspension arm after every change of equipment
(see page 152).
• Adjust the limit of downward travel of the suspension arm in such a way
that the surgical microscope cannot come in contact with the patient
(see page 154). This applies in particularly during the installation of
accessories underneath the microscope, e.g., while installing the fibre slit
lamp VISULUX (8) or the angular illumination.
CAUTION Risk of injury!
Incorrectly mounted auxiliary equipment can fall off.
• Do not replace accessories over the patient.
• After each use and after each modification of the device, check for the
firm seat of the accessory. Make sure that securing screws (6) and (8)
have been firmly tightened!
• Always follow the respective instructions for use when installing any kind
of accessory, e.g. the VISULUX fiber slit lamp (8).
