S88 / OPMI Lumera T Operation
Check the system using the checklist.
Swing the surgical microscope over the surgical field into an ergonomic
position within the working distance.
Press the reset button on the X-Y coupling.
Æ The X-Y coupling moves to its center position.
Æ The focus adopts its initial position in the focusing range.
Select the lowest magnification (zoom function on the foot control panel).
Look through the eyepieces and lower the surgical microscope using the
suspension arm until the surgical field comes into focus. This will allow you
to achieve a rough focus.
Select the highest magnification (zoom function on the foot control
panel).
Look through the eyepieces and activate the focus function on the foot
control panel until the image of the operating field is in focus.
Select the magnification required (zoom). Look through the eyepieces
of the binocular tube. Adjust the eyepieces so that both the edge of the
field of view and the microscope image are sharply focused. See also
"Adjusting the surgical microscope".
If you use a drape with a cover lens, you will obtain a more brilliant
image by removing the cover lens.
Switch off the system when not in use.
CAUTION Risk of injury!
Long radiation exposure times while the device is unattended may lead to
retinal damage in the patient's eye.
Never leave a device unattended with the light source still switched on.
CAUTION Risk of collision!
When the recentering key is pressed, during rough focusing via the
suspension arm or when the focus is moved unintentionally, the patient may
be injured or mounted accessories may be damaged.
Ensure to provide sufficient clearance between equipment and patient
(min. 40
mm) when pressing the recentering key.
Ensure that attached accessories may not come into contact with other
objects.
