isreset,onlysomestackmemberscanjoinmaindeviceelection.If
stackmemberstarttimegapisin15sitcanjointhemaindevice
election.Otherwisethedeviceonlycanbecomestackmember .
Allstackmemberscanjointheprocessofmaindevicerenewed
election.
Whenthemaindevicehasbeenelectedandtheoriginalmainde-
vicehasjoinedstacksystemagain,theoriginalmaindevicecan
notbethecurrentmaindeviceagainbutmemberdevice.
StackSystemMemberID
StackmemberID,from1to9,identieseachmemberinstack
system.Theinterfacecongurationofeachstackmemberisbased
onthismemberID.Meanwhile,eachstackmemberIDcanbe
viewedbycommandline.Ifadevicehasn’tconguredIDbefore
joiningstacksystemitwillhasdefaultID1.Inastacksystem,
twoormultipledevicescan’thavethesameIDs.
Thecommandnvramstack-machine-idmodiesstackdevice
IDwhichisvalidafterrestartingthedevice.Whenadevicejoins
astacksystem,ifitsIDisdifferentfromtheIDofanymember
inthisstacksystemtheIDcanbesaved.Otherwise,itwillbe
allocatedthesmallestandunusedID.
StackSystemMACAddress
TheMACaddressofstacksystemusesthatofmaindevice.When
maindeviceleaves,theMACaddressofmaindevicewhichisnewly
electedwillbetheMACaddressofstacksystem.MACswitchfunc-
tionsetsMACaddressswitchingtime.Ifthedeviceiscongured
thisfunction,whenmaindeviceleaves,theMACaddressofstack
systemwillbethatoftheoriginalmaindevice.Atthesettingtime,
iforiginalmaindevicereturnstostacksystemagaintheMACad-
dressofstacksystemwillretainunchanged.Otherwise,itwillbe
changedtotheMACaddressofnewmaindevice.
StackMemberDevicePriority
Thehighertheswitchpriority,thegreaterthepossibilityofbeing
maindeviceduringmaindeviceelection.Thepriorityrangeis
