Upgrade
Thesoftwareversionineachmemberofstacksystemshouldbe
thesame.Whenstacksystemstartsandmaindeviceiselected,
softwareversionnumberofeachmemberdevicewillbeautomat-
icallychecked.Iftheversionnumberofstackmemberisdifferent
fromthatofmaindevice,themaindevicewillsynchronizethe
softwaretomemberdevice.Aftersynchronizing,memberdevice
willrestartandjointhestacksystemagain.
Itisrecommendedthatthepriorityofthedevicewiththehigh-
estsoftwareversionisconguredthehighest.Thereforeitcan
bethemaindeviceandothermemberdevicescanautomatically
upgradesthelatestsoftware.

Thecongurationleofstacksystemappliescongurationleof
maindevice.Thenameofcongurationleisstackcfg.dat.When
systemstarts,itreadscongurationlefromashofmainde-
viceandrecoversaccordingtotherecordofthiscongurationle.
Whenwriteisused,congurationleisnotonlysavedinthis
devicebutalsosynchronizedtootherdevices,thatis,thesame
congurationlewillbesavedinashofotherdevices.Ifmember
deviceleavesitwillautomaticallyloadthiscongurationleafter
starting.

Thereisamaindeviceandastandbydeviceinstacksystem(if
thereisonlyonedevice,thatismaindevice).Thecommandcan
becarriedoutinmaindevicetocongurethewholestacksystem.
Meanwhilethesecongurewillbesynchronizedtostandbydevice,
thatis,thestandbydevicewillrecordtheseconguration.When
maindevicehasrunningfaultorleaves,standbydevicewillbe-
comemaindeviceandanewstandbydevicewillbeelectedfrom
therestofmemberdevices.Thereforestacksystemconguration
won’tlostandtheeffectontrafcforwardingwillbeminimized.
