Opens
This function measures the distance to a complete
“open” on a pair based on a selected cable type.
“Opens” is more accurate if other cable pairs are
active. If other pairs are not active, short at least
30% of the inactive pairs to the cable shield.
The TDR function should be used to determine
distance to a “partial” open.
The 965DSP will first measure the “open” distance
between green and black. Use the [Tab] key to move
to the next lead configuration.
Press the [Setup] key to change the Cable Type, or to
select Capacitance.
Press the [Up] or [Down] keys to move to the desired
cable type. Press the [Enter] key to accept the choice
and return to the main Opens screen. Press the
[Return] key to return without changing the cable type.
