If the temperature is known and the total of the
specified section lengths is greater than the measured
distance to strap, then the calculated unknown
section length would be negative. This will cause a
“Yield Sign” to be displayed to the left of the setup
boxes and “***” to be displayed in the
“Distance to Fault” and “Distance Strap to Fault”
boxes as shown below.
If the red and green clips are reversed in a separate
pair RFL measurement, the “Resistance to Fault”
calculation may return a negative value. This will
cause a “Yield Sign” to be displayed next to the
DSTF or RSTF result and “***” in the DTF and
DSTF boxes as shown below.
