One-personactiveinductionmodesweepsrequirethatthetransmitterbesetonthe
groundoverthesuspectedpathoftheburiedinfrastructure.Thereceiverisusedto
detectsignalsinducedbythetransmitteronburiedlongconductors.Properplacement
andorientationiskeytomaximizetheinducedsignalintheburiedcableormetallic
pipeenoughtobedetectablebythereceiveralongeachpathinthesweptarea.(Note
thatnosignalisinducedontoaconductorwhosepathisperpendiculartotheInduction
Directionindication.)
• Placethetransmitterintheupright(bottomonground)positionfordirectional
optimizationwhenalignedwiththeInductionDirectionshownonthelabelonthe
transmitter.
• Tipthetransmitterovertowardsthefront,andlayitonit'sfrontsurface,formulti-
directionalwideareainduction.(Notethatnosignalisinducedontoaconductor
whosepathisdirectlyunderthetransmitter).
• RemoveanythingpluggedintotheOutput Jack [T-6](thiswillplaceunitinInduction
Mode),selecthighestavailablefrequency(200kHz)andhighestoutputpowerlevel.
