4. Click Restart.
5. Connect the USB cable to a Type A connector on the Mac and to the uppermost USB con-
nector (Type B) on the back of the analyzer.
6. Turn on the analyzer.
7. Use the Network section in the System
Preferences application (Go > Applica-
tions > System Preferences > Network) to
enable the virtual communications port.
Click OK.
8. Select Network Port Configurations from the Show list.
9. Enable the new port
(usbserial-1B22 in the example at
right) by checking its On box and
clicking Apply Now.
10. Configure any needed applications to
communicate with the analyzer over
the virtual communication port.
