11.7 Using HyperTerminal
This section describes how to set up and use Windows’ HyperTerminal to capture and transmit
test results.
Note: The screen captures and menu configurations shown here may vary
depending on your version of Windows.
Setting Up HyperTerminal
1. On the Windows desktop, click Start > Programs > Accessories > Communications >
HyperTerminal to view the HyperTerminal Folder. Click HyperTrm.exe to start the
HyperTerminal setup wizard.
If HyperTerminal does not appear, install it by going to Start > Settings > Control
Panel > Add/Remove Programs (Add/Remove Windows Components > Communica-
tions tab). Consult Windows help for details.
2. Type a descriptive name (such as Abaxis) for the
connection in the Name box. Click OK.
