3. In the Connect Using dialog, select the port that the ana-
lyzer is connected to, then click OK. (The other settings
are not required.)
Note: If the port is unknown, select any one for
now. If needed, you can run the wizard again
to try other ports.
4. Change Bits per second to 9600, then click OK.
Leave all other settings at their defaults.
5. If a valid port was selected, a new
HyperTerminal session starts. The
status pane on the lower, left cor-
ner of the window should display
“Connected” as shown.
Note: If an error message appears, close HyperTerminal (do not save
changes). Start the HyperTerminal setup wizard again, and choose a
different port.
6. Click File > Save As on the menu to save the HyperTerminal session. Note where the ses-
sion file is saved so that it can be loaded in the future (create a shortcut on the desktop if
necessary). Proceed to the next section for instructions on capturing results.
