b. Sample Delivery Volume
Follow these guidelines to make sure you add the correct sample volume to the
reagent rotor.
■ When a sufficient quantity of sample is added,
it will form a line between the arrows on the
rotor surface.
■ If an air bubble is introduced, add enough sam-
ple to fill the overflow area by 1/3 to 1/2, as
shown at right.
■ Make sure any excess sample does not travel
beyond the overflow area.
CAUTION: Do not try to remove the sample and reintroduce it to the rotor.
Note: After the sample is added to the rotor, make sure there is no excess
blood on the top of the rotor. Gently wipe off the excess, being careful
not to draw any sample from the sample port. Excess sample can spin
off the rotor and into the rotor chamber, and can degrade performance.
