4.4.4 Changing the tie rod

WARNING!
Lock the upper arm in a horizontal position
with the help of a hoist and lifting slings.
1.
Unscrew screw. See foldout/pos. <2/74>
2.
Undo the two screws for fixing the cabling bracket
of the upper arm housing.
3.
Fold back the cabling bracket.
4.
Screw the screw back into the shaft. See foldout/pos. <2/74> and
<2/71>
5.
Carefully knock the shaft out.
6.
Remove housing. See foldout/pos. <2/72>
7.
Unscrew on the lower bracket. See foldout/pos. <2/70>
8.
Carefully tap the rod off the shaft.

1.
Fit bearings on the parallel arm.
2.
Make sure you replace the rod the correct way up. See foldout/pos. <1/1>.
3.
Install grommets: (3 x) and (1 x). See foldout/pos. <1/68> and
<1/75>.
NOTE!
The grommet is bevelled and must be inserted the
right way up in the lower bearing.

4.
Place the lower bearing of the tie rod on the parallel
arm.
5.
Screw in the screw and its washer. Lock using Loc-
tite 242 or 243.

<1/69>.
6.
Replace shaft. N.B! Do not forget the sleeve
<72>.

7.
Mount washer <73> and tighten the shaft using a
temporary screw, M8x35.
8.
Replace this screw by screw <74> and mount the
cable bearer <163>.
