If your device is connected to a private branch exchange, remember that you
may need to add an extra digit at the beginning to allow access to the public
telephone network (usually “0” in Germany and usually “9” in the UK).
If you want to use an SMS service center in another country, you also need
to specify the international dialing code.
Example:
The device is connected to an extension of a private branch exchange in
Germany and is to use vodafone in the UK for “SMS over PSTN”. The
telephone number to be entered must then correspond to the following
structure.
0 0044 7785 1234567
0 Exchange dial-up prefix (exchange
access code)
0044 Dial-up prefix for the international
telephone network (00) and
the country code for the the UK (44)
7785 Network prefix for vodafone UK
1234567 Telephone number
SMS Format
Select the format specified to you by the SMS service center. The available
options are 8N1 and 7E1.
The device can communicate with the SMS service center either
with 7 data bits with even parity and 1 stop bit (7 E 1)
or
with 8 data bits, no parity, and 1 stop bit (8 N 1).
SMS Protocol
Select the protocol specified to you by the SMS service center. The available
options are: TAP or UCP.

processing request for an SMS message. This is also used for clear
charging of SMS messages.
