2.4 Thermal Electromotive Force Output
The thermal electromotive force output function generates voltages (mV) equivalent to the thermal electro-
motive forces of eight types of thermocouples by specifying the temperature values.
It helps easy calibration of measuring instruments that adopt these thermocouples.
In addition, as the temperature of the reference junction can be set optionally, room temperature compensa-
tion corresponding to the working environment is available.
The following table shows the applicable thermocouples.
NOTE: The 6146 is NOT equipped with the thermal electromotive force output function.
2.4.1 Thermal Electromotive Force Output Operation
Turning ON or OFF the thermal electromotive force output and setting the temperature output value
The thermal electromotive force output is turned ON or OFF using MENU, TEMP
and TC.OUT.
1. Press MENU.
2. Select ..4.. TEMP with , or , and enter the Select level with .
3. Select TC.OUT with , or , and enter the Input/Run level with .
4. Select ON with , or , and press ENTER and EXIT in this order to
return to the HOME screen.
When TC.OUT is set to ON, the display changes as below and voltages equiva-
lent to the thermal electromotive forces can be output.
The temperature value can be changed in this state as the voltage or current out-
put value.
