qos
Syntax qos
Context configure>system>resource-profile
Description This command provides the context to configure the QoS parameters.
sap-ingress-queues
Syntax sap-ingress-queues [highUcastLowMcast]
Context configure>system>resource-profile>qos
Description NOTE: This command is available only on 7210 SAS-X node.
When user executes this command with the option highUcastLowMcast, on the next reboot, the mode
of the device is set to allow for use of unicast queues and shaping for SAP ingress traffic. This mode
allows user to have larger amount of SAP ingress queued traffic at the expense of lesser multicast
replication capacity. In this mode, the total bandwidth for unicast ingress queued traffic is limited to
20G and total bandwidth for multicast traffic (post-replication) is limited to 11G. In this mode, user
must ensure that the unicast ingress queued traffic received by the node does not exceed 20G, that is,
over-subscription of the ingress queued traffic must be prevented. The software does not implement
any mechanism to detect the overload condition, hence proper care must be exercised by the user to
prevent it.
When the no form of the command is executed, on the next reboot, the mode of the device does not
allow for use of unicast queues and shaping for SAP ingress traffic. This mode allows user to have
larger multicast replication capability and the total bandwidth available for multicast traffic (post
replication) is limited to 23G. In this mode, software will error out any queue configuration in the
SAP ingress QoS policy.
NOTE: In both these modes, Network Port and SAP egress queuing and shaping is supported. About
44G of bandwidth is available for Network Port and SAP egress traffic.
