3.6.15. Battery check
Use isolating switch to disconnect storage batteries.•
Open the cover.•
Clean storage battery surface. Check condition of terminals •
(1). Clean terminals, paint with grease. Open cell plugs of
storage battery (2) to conrm electrolyte level in all cells
reaches 5 ÷ 15 mm (0.2 ÷ 0.6 in) above electrodes or up to
the bottom edge of dipstick in accumulator cells.
Note:
Use glass tube to check the level.•
Measure the electrolyte density in individual cells with re-•
fractometer or density meter.
Compare density meter-measured values with the Table.•
