How to fix AMX NXD-700i USB driver with yellow exclamation point?
    • K
      Kevin FranklinAug 19, 2025
If your AMX Touch Panel USB driver shows a yellow exclamation point, it likely wasn't installed correctly. To reinstall it: * Disconnect the USB cable from the panel. * Connect the USB cable to the G4 panel; a USB icon should appear in the System Tray. * Double-click the icon to see the "AMX USB LAN LINK" device. * If the driver install dialog doesn't appear, select "Properties," then "Update Driver." * Click "Next" in the Install Driver dialog to accept defaults. Ignore any warnings about the digital signature and continue the installation. The exclamation point should disappear after installation.

Why is my AMX Modero Touch Panel not appearing in Workspace window?
    • J
      james57Aug 21, 2025
If your AMX Modero Touch Panel isn’t showing up in the Workspace window, make sure that the System number is the same in both the NetLinx Workspace window and on the System Connection page of the Modero panel. Also, verify that you've correctly entered the NetLinx Master IP and connection methods in the Master Connection section of the System Connection page.

What to do if AMX NXD-700i communication icon doesn't turn green?
    • C
      Carla DayAug 25, 2025
A green communication icon indicates a successful connection to the target Master or Virtual Master. Here’s how to troubleshoot if your AMX Touch Panel communication icon isn’t turning green: * Launch NetLinx Studio and configure the Master Connection communication settings for a Virtual Master. * Go to the System connection page and set the Type field to USB. * Ensure the Type-A USB connector is securely connected to the PC. * Disconnect the mini-USB from the panel and turn the panel OFF. * Turn the panel ON, then connect the mini-USB to the Program Port. The USB icon should appear in the system tray. If it doesn’t, refer to the Configuring and Using USB with a Virtual Master section on page 25 of the manual. * Allow the panel a few minutes to detect the connection to the PC.

Why AMX NXD-700i Connection Status button isn’t blinking?
    • D
      Dominic WilliamsAug 27, 2025
If your AMX Touch Panel's Connection Status button isn't blinking and displays "USB Connecting", it means the panel is trying to establish USB communication. Try these steps: * Disconnect the USB connector from the panel and close all AMX applications. * Reboot the panel. * Restart the AMX application and try reconnecting to the panel. * If you're using Studio for Virtual Master communication, establish a Virtual Master connection, confirm the correct System number, stop communication with the Virtual Master, and then re-establish communication by refreshing the system. * After the panel restarts, reconnect the USB connector. * Check your System Tray for a valid USB connection.

What to do if AMX Modero Touch Panel can’t obtain a DHCP Address?
    • C
      Christopher MathewsAug 28, 2025
If your AMX Modero Touch Panel isn't getting a DHCP address, keep in mind that it can take a few minutes for the DHCP Server to provide the address. Follow these steps: * Make sure an active Ethernet connection is connected to the back of the Modero before you start. * From the Main menu, go to Diagnostics > Network Address and check the System number. * If the IP Address field is still empty, wait a few minutes for the Modero to negotiate a DHCP Address and try again.

Why does a VNC Server dialog appear when using AMX G4 WebControl?
    • H
      hollowayalexAug 30, 2025
When using G4 WebControl to connect to an AMX Touch Panel, a G4 Authentication dialog should appear, prompting you for the panel's password. If a VNC Server dialog appears instead, here's what to do: * Enter the IP Address of the target panel. You can find this within the Setup > Protected Setup > System Connection page, in the IP Settings section. * Click OK after entering the IP Address. * When the G4 Authentication popup appears, enter the panel’s WebControl password.

What to do if AMX NXD-700i Touch Panel is not showing up in Virtual Master’s System list?
    • B
      Briana MitchellSep 1, 2025
If your AMX Touch Panel isn't showing up in the Virtual Master's system list, it might be retaining information from a previous Virtual Master connection. Try these steps: * Reboot the panel without the USB cable connected. * Configure NetLinx Studio for a Virtual Master connection, noting the System Number used in the Edit Settings window. * Stop communication on the Virtual Master by going to Settings > Stop Communications and clicking Yes. * Select the System Number (from the Online Tree tab) and right-click to select Refresh System. This re-establishes communication with the Virtual Master. * Plug the mini-USB cable into the panel. * Wait a few seconds and refresh the system again. The panel should now appear in the list.

Why only one AMX Modero panel shows up when multiple are connected?
    • C
      Cheryl SimmonsSep 4, 2025
If you have multiple Modero panels connected to your AMX System Master but only one is showing up, it's likely due to conflicting Device Number values. Here’s how to resolve it: * Press and hold the grey Front Setup Access button for 3 seconds to access the Setup page. * Press the Protected Setup button (lower-left of the panel), enter 1988 as the password, and press Done. * Enter a unique Device Number value for each panel. The default is 10001, and the range is 1-32000.

Why is calibration not working on my AMX Modero Touch Panel?
    • C
      Clayton GonzalezSep 6, 2025
If calibration isn't working on your AMX Modero touch panel, it may need to be reset, especially after a firmware update. Cycling the power to the panel should provide a baseline calibration. Then, go to the Calibration page and reset the on-screen calibration.

Why can’t I connect to a NetLinx Master using AMX NetLinx Studio?
    • B
      Betty MillerSep 8, 2025
If you're having trouble connecting to a NetLinx Master using NetLinx Studio, try this: * Go to Settings > Master Comm Settings > Communication Settings > Settings (for TCP/IP). * Uncheck the "Automatically Ping the Master Controller to ensure availability" box. Note that while pinging checks for Master availability, some networks or firewalls block pings, causing connection failures. Disabling this option will still attempt a connection, but it may take longer to recognize a failure. This adjustment might be necessary when the master controller is behind a firewall.
