21. Use the keypad to enter 10 and press the kHz submenu key.
22. Enter the measured value into Table A-2, “Spectrum Analyzer 1.0 GHz SSB Phase Noise Verification”
on page A-2.
23. Subtract 30 dB from the average value and record the Calculated Value results in Table A-2 and verify
that the result is less than the specification for 10 kHz Offset.
For example: –70 dBc measured – 30 dB = –100 dBc/Hz
24. Press the Span main menu key, use the keypad to enter 210, and select the kHz submenu key.
25. Press the Shift key and then press the Trace (5) key, then select the Trace A Operations submenu key.
26. Press the # of Averages submenu key, use the keypad to enter 3, then press the Enter key.
27. Wait until the Trace Count displays 3/3.
28. Press the Marker main menu key and select the Peak Search submenu key.
29. Press the Delta On/Off submenu key to turn Delta on.
30. Use the keypad to enter 100 and press the kHz submenu key.
31. Enter the measured value into Table A-2.
32. Subtract 30 dB from the average value and record the Calculated Value results in Table A-2 and verify
that the result is less than the specification for 100 kHz Offset.
For example: –70 dBc measured – 30 dB = –100 dBc/Hz
33. Press the Span main menu key, use the keypad to enter 2.2, and select the MHz submenu key.
34. Press the VBW submenu key and use the keypad to enter 30, then select the Hz submenu key.
35. Press the Shift key and then press the Trace (5) key, then select the Trace A Operations submenu key.

Press the # of Averages submenu key, use the keypad to enter 3, then press the Enter key.
37. Wait until the Trace Count displays 3/3.
38. Press the Marker main menu key and select the Peak Search submenu key.
39. Press the Delta On/Off submenu key to turn on Delta.
40. Use the keypad to enter 1 and press the MHz submenu key.
41. Enter the measured value into Table A-2.
42. Subtract 30 dB from the average value and record the Calculated Value results in Table A-2 and verify
that the result is less than the specification for 1 MHz Offset.
For example: –70 dBc measured – 30 dB = –100 dBc/Hz
43. Press the Span main menu key, use the keypad to enter 22, and select the MHz submenu key.
44. Press the Shift key and then press the Trace (5) key, then select the Trace A Operations submenu key.
45. Press the # of Averages submenu key, use the keypad to enter 3, then press the Enter key.
46. Wait until the Trace Count displays 3/3.
47. Press the Marker main menu key and select the Peak Search submenu key.
48. Press the Delta On/Off submenu key to turn on Delta.
49. Use the keypad to enter 10 and press the MHz submenu key.
50. Enter the measured value into Table A-2.
51. Subtract 30 dB from the average value and record the Calculated Value results in Table A-2 of the test
records and verify that the result is less than the specification for 10 MHz Offset.
For example: –70 dBc measured – 30 dB = –100 dBc/Hz
