4. Provide primary surge protection, by installing additional three-electrode Gas
Discharge Tube (GDT) rated 350V as a primary protection on the MDF, located at the
entrance point of telephone wiring to the building. The center pin of the GDT must be
connected to ground as shown in the figure below:

5. Connect the FXO line from the MDF to the PBX/PSTN equipment.
