A risk of accident is posed as a result of missing, defective, incorrect or
incorrectly installed protective devices.
n Equip all areas (where a protective device is stipulated) with the rele‐
vant protective device.
n Always check the protective device for defects before using it.
n Only install the protective device as stipulated.
10.2 Malfunctions
Unusual noises, malfunctions or changes to the operating behavior of the
machine indicate a defect in the machine. In these cases, refer to the mal‐
function tables to find the causes of the malfunction. The work is only
allowed to be resumed once the malfunction has been rectified completely.
When rectifying malfunctions, note that there may be residual mechanical,
hydraulic, and electrical/electronic energy present.
During troubleshooting, also refer to the electrical diagrams and hydraulic
diagrams (→ 14.4).
