n The manufacturer attaches instructions on the machine in the form of
relevant pictograms. The owner/user must regularly check these picto‐
grams for legibility and replace illegible/damaged pictograms immedi‐
ately.
n The machine must constantly be observed during operation and must
be immediately shut down in the event of a fault occurring, e.g. if there
are any unusual noises.

Required chapter-specific safety instructions in the documentation are iden‐
tified by pictograms, and are additionally introduced by signal words that
express the expected extent of damage.
