14.1 The most important hand signals for providing guidance
The most important signals are shown below. If required, additional appro‐
priate signals must be agreed between the operator and the banksman.
Attention
Hold arm outstretched with open hand
Stop
Hold both arms outstretched horizontally
Stop! Danger
Alternate between holding both arms outstretched hori‐
zontally and bent at the elbows
Move off
Hold arm outstretched upwards with open palm and
move from side to side
