Trouble shooting guide
Before calling for service, check the following items. If the problem can't be solved, contact the place of purchase or your
nearest authorized dealer.
Problem Cause Correction Reference
Upper thread breaks
The machine is not threaded correctly. Rethread the machine.

The thread tension is too tight. Reduce the thread tension. (Lower
number).

The thread is too thick for the needle. Select a larger needle.

The needle is not inserted correctly. Remove and reinsert the needle (flat
side towards the back).

The thread is wound around the spool
pin.
Remove the spool and wind thread
onto spool.

The needle is damaged. Replace the needle.

Lower thread
breaks
The bobbin case is not inserted cor-
rectly.
Remove and reinsert the bobbin case
and pull on the thread. The thread
should run easily.

The bobbin case is threaded incor-
rectly.
Check both bobbin and bobbin case.

Skipped stitches
The needle is not inserted correctly. Remove and reinsert needle (flat side
towards the back).

The needle is damaged. Insert a new needle.

The wrong size needle has been used. Choose a needle to suit the thread.

The foot is not attached correctly. Check and attach correctly.

The machine is not threaded correctly. Rethread the machine.

The presser foot pressure is not strong
enough.
Adjust the presser foot pressure.
