10.1.5 Line Light
The line light is used to illuminate reflecting fluorescence samples.
Reflections on the sample are ruled out by the fact that the lights are positioned at the side. The
angle of illumination can be set by adjusting the two lights. To this end, you have to open the
knurled screws and move the fiber optics lights to the desired position.
Make sure that both lights are in the same position relative to each other to avoid irregular illu-
mination conditions.
Plug the fiber optics connection into the transfer port (see 5.3.7) located in the right, upper sec-
tion of the dark box of the NightSHADE; it ensures reliable light coupling.
10.1.6 Goose Neck Light Guide
The goose neck light guide is used to illuminate very small samples or plant parts.
Thanks to the two flexible arms it can be employed universally and can be adapted to the re-
spective illumination tasks.
The two light exit opening should be placed such that they are outside the image acquisition
range.
Plug the fiber optics connection into the transfer port (see 5.3.7) in the right, upper section of the
dark box of the NightSHADE; it ensures reliable light coupling.
