4.1 Installation
4.1.1 Safety Instructions
Whenever you are working with UV transilluminators you have to wear safety
equipment (safety glass, face protecting mask) to rule out any hazards due to
ultraviolet rays. The transilluminator is designed for operation in the Night-
SHADE and should not be operated outside the device.
4.1.2 Requirements
Please observe the following requirements when working with the NightSHADE:
2-5 mains outlets (depending on accessories). The power consumption of the NightSHADE with-
out PC and external devices is max. 600 W.
The power consumption of the cooling unit is 340 W.
To power on/off the system with one switch we recommend connecting all devices to a common
outlet strip.
At least 160 cm width of workplace (the load-carrying capacity of the table or the desktop should
be approx 100 kg). Make sure that the table or desktop stands firm and does not wobble.
To use network resources (network printer, file server, etc.) a connection to a network is essen-
tial. A connection to the Internet is recommended for easier support, but it is not essential for op-
eration of the NightSHADE.
To allow ergonomic working, the NightSHADE should always be set up to the left of the PC, as
the door hinges are on the left.
