VECTOR
STARTING A NEW SHOW AND PATCHING
The Patch Manager
At start up, Vector's patch is empty. The system must be set up for the
number and types of fixtures that will be used in the show. Opening a
new show file resets the patch to empty and clears all current data.
Determining the type and number of fixtures used in the show and
patching these fixtures is done in the
Patch Manager.
The
Patch Managers features include all patch and configuration
activities:
Determining the type of fixtures used in the show.
The number of fixtures.
Assigning fixture numbers used when programming.
The pan and tilt orientation for moving devices.
Patching fixtures to DMX addresses.
Fixtures are organized into Sets, which are groups of generic fixture
types:
Set 0 - Channel
Set 1 - Spot
Set 2 - Matrix
Set 3- Media server
The patch display is in grid format. Each set has its own grid.
During patching, Vector automatically calculates the DMX length for the
fixtures.
When the
Patch Manager is open, you can still perform any show
programming functions.
To open the Patch Manager
Tap Tool s menu Patch Manager.
Importing devices
You must import the devices that you intend to use in your show.
Devices are imported from a list of device files. The
IMPORT DEVICE button
in the
dialog boxes opens the list of device files.
