112 AlterPath PM Installation, Administration, and User’s Guide
Refer to Table C-20, “Circuit Breaker Trip Time,” on page 114 to determine
the time it takes for the circuit breaker to trip based on the amount of current
overload.
Figure C-3: PM20-L30A Circuit Breakers
PM20i-L30A
The PM20i-L30A has two 15-amp circuit breakers. The first circuit breaker
controls outlets 11 through 20; the second controls outlets 1 through 10. In
the event that the total current flow to outlets 11 through 20 exceeds 15 amps
due to equipment connected to these outlets, then the first circuit breaker will
trip causing outlets 11 through 20 to shutdown. This does not affect outlets 1
through 10 which are controlled by the second circuit breaker.
As the PM20i-L30A has the controller (see Control Board in the figure below)
powered from the line side of one of the circuit breakers, the whole unit will
become inoperative only when both circuit breakers trip; however, the
controller will remain functioning.
When either circuit breaker trips, only the power outlets of that segment will
be affected, and half of the outlets remain operative.
