Configuring VLANs (CLI)
This section provides information about the commands you use to create and 
configure VLANs. For more information about the commands, see the

Creating a VLAN
Beginning in Privileged EXEC mode, use the following commands to 
configure a VLAN and associate a name with the VLAN.
Configuring a Port in Access Mode
Beginning in Privileged EXEC mode, use the following commands to 
configure an untagged layer 2 VLAN interface and assign the interface to a 
VLAN. When a port is in access mode, it can only be a member of one 
untagged VLAN. When you configure the interface as a VLAN member, the

Create a new VLAN or a range of VLANs and enter the 
interface configuration mode for the specified VLAN or 
VLAN range.

vlan-id
—A valid VLAN IDs (Range: 2–4093).
•
vlan-range
 — A list of valid VLAN IDs to be added. List 
separate, non-consecutive VLAN IDs separated by 
commas (without spaces); use a hyphen to designate a 
range of IDs. (Range: 2–4093)
name

Add a name to the specified VLAN.
string
 — Comment or description to help identify a 
specific VLAN (Range: 1–32 characters).
CTRL + Z Exit to Privileged EXEC mode.
show vlan [id 
vlan-id

Display VLAN information.
