Calibrating O2 sensors
Savina uses one O2 sensor for O2 control and display
(sensor 1) and a second, separate O2 sensor for O2 monitoring
(sensor 2).
The O2 sensor for O2 control and display (sensor 1)
is automatically calibrated by Savina:
— when the apparatus is switched on
— after 8 hours’ operation
— when the O2 sensor is replaced
— if sensor 1 and sensor 2 differ from each other by more
than 2% by volume
— when the air pressure changes by more than 200 hPa,
e.g. during transfer flights by helicopter
— when the temperature changes by more than 10
o
C.
During automatic calibration, the following message appears in
the information line on the screen:
O2 calibration active
After calibration is complete, the following message appears:
O2 calibration ok
The O2 sensor for O2 monitoring (sensor 2) has to be
calibrated manually:
— once per month,
— if the following alarms occur:
!!! FiO2 high
or
!!! FiO2 low
or
!!! O2 measurement inop.
● Manual calibration can be carried out in any ventilation
mode, see page 49.
