3.4.8 Relay contacts
The soft starters of the DS7 series are provided with one or two relays with
an N/O contact depending on the current range. The relays are galvanically
isolated from the power section.
Table 16: Relay contacts
In applications in which the relay contacts (TOR, RUN / READY) control
external contactors, the contactor coil must be connected in order to
increase interference immunity:
• for AC voltage with an RC filter,
• for DC voltage with free-wheel diode.
The illustration below shows the operating points for the Run signals at relay
contacts TOR (13/14) and RUN (23/24).

Designation Function
13/14
or -A2/13
TOR Top-of-ramp: Signals operation with full voltage on the motor
(top of start ramp reached; set time t-Start elapsed).
23/24
RUN/ READY Operating signal during ramp time (t-Start, t-Stop), as well as during
continuous operation (= TOR)
Default setting: RUN
Note:
This relay is only installed in devices of sizes 2, 3 and 4.
