3.4 Electrical Installation
DANGER – DANGER OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK!
Carry out wiring work only after the Soft starter has been
correctly mounted and secured.
Carry out wiring work only if the unit is de-energized.
WARNING – FIRE HAZARD!
Only use cables, circuit-breakers, and contactors that feature
the indicated permissible nominal current value.
NOTICE
The devices contain components that are sensitive to
electrostatic charges. Before undertaking work near the
terminals, personnel must discharge themselves (i.e. by
touching a PE fixing screw or another grounded metal surface
in the control panel).
DANGER
The power section of the soft starter contains semiconductor
components. These do not have any isolation between the
supply and the load. Small leakage currents are always therefore
present. An upstream disconnector must therefore be switched
off before working on the soft starter or motor.
DANGER
Before connecting the DS7 soft starter’s power terminals to
voltage for the first time, the control voltage needs to be applied
in order to ensure that the internal bypass contacts will open.
This is necessary in order to prevent the motor from starting
unintentionally.
