Connect Cables for a Fabric-connected VG8

Step 3: Serial cables

Serial cables connect the Control Station to the CallHome modem.

To connect the serial cables:

1. Connect the modem serial cable (labeled CS telephone icon) from the CS 0 serial

port to the first external modem (Figure 69). Then connect the modem to an

analog telephone line supplied by the customer.

Figure 70 shows the label clip on the modem serial cable.

2. For dual Control Station systems, connect the modem serial cable (labeled CS

telephone icon) from the CS 1 serial port to the second external modem. Then,

connect the modem to an analog telephone line supplied by the customer.
