Connecting a CLARiiON CX3-20 or CX3-40 array
The CLARiiON CX3-20 and CX3-40 arrays require two SAN ports from each SP to be
connected to the switch or switches. All traffic to the array travels over these
connections.
If you are using two switches to connect a CLARiiON CX3-20 or CX3-40 array,
connect the cables as shown in Figure 165:

1. Connect SP A port 0 Fibre to switch A.
2. Connect SP B port 0 Fibre to switch B.
3. Connect SP A port 1 Fibre to switch B.
4. Connect SP B port 1 Fibre to switch A.
5. Record which SP ports you connected to which switch ports using the “FC/FCoE
cabling worksheet” on page 273.
Note: If you did not use the default SP and FC switch cabling, you must manually select the FC
switch ports the array will use in “Step 2: Install latest File OE on CS 0” on page 139.
