Create storage
group
Create a new storage group on the VNX array by using one of the following methods:
◆ “Unisphere” on page 238
◆ “Navisphere CLI” on page 238
Unisphere If you are using Unisphere, complete the following steps to create a new storage
group on the array. This storage group allows the blades to access their storage on the
array:
1. Select the system from the system drop-down list, and choose Hosts > Storage
Groups. Then from the Storage Groups window, click Create. The Create Storage
Group dialog box appears (Figure 154).

2. Enter the CS 0 hostname in the Storage Group Name field (see note).
Note: Enter the CS 0 hostname with this format: Celerra_<CS0_hostname>Cs0. Using this
naming convention ensures that manually-configured systems are consistent with
auto-configured systems.
3. Click OK. The system prompts you to confirm this action.
4. Click Yes to confirm. The system confirms creation of the new storage group and
displays this message:
Do you wish to add LUNs or connect hosts?
5. Click No.
Navisphere CLI If you are using Navisphere CLI, open a command prompt (DOS) window, and enter
the following commands:
# navicli -h <SP_A_IP_address> storagegroup -create -gname
<storage_group_name>
# navicli -h <SP_A_IP_address> storagegroup -shareable -gname
<storage_group_name> yes
