Verifying Navisphere Domain Security is configured
Verify that the Navisphere Domain Security is configured. This security provides user
names and passwords for access through Navisphere Manager and naviseccli. All
security must be enabled on the CLARiiON.

The Navisphere administrator username and password will be required during the
EMCNAS software installation and configuration.
To verify a global CLARiiON user account (name and password):
1. Access Navisphere Manager by entering the IP address for SP A in a browser.
2. If security is enabled, Navisphere Manager prompts you for a user name and
password:
a. Enter the administrator username and password to log in, and verify that the
password is global.
b. Go to step 4 on page 313 .
3. If security is not enabled, Navisphere Manager prompts you to set up security:
a. Click Yes to initialize global security and set up a security administrator
account for the customer.
b. In the Create Global Administrator window, enter the customer’s username
and password, confirm the password, and click OK.
Keep the defaults for Role as administrator and Global/Local as global.
4. To set up an administrator account for the VNX gateway:
a. Go to Too ls > Security > User management. The User Management window
appears.
b. Click Add to add another user.
c. In the Add User window, enter the username and password, confirm the
password, and click OK:
– An example for a username is vnx<last_4_digits_of_product_serial_number>
as in vnx0123.
– An example for a password is nasadmin.
– Keep the defaults for Role as administrator and Global/Local as global.
