2.3.5 Cleaning (Toner Cartridge)
In cleaning (toner cartridge) process, remaining toner on the Drum and the BCR as
well as electrical charge on the Drum are removed.
 Drum cleaning
Cleaning blade contacts the Drum surface and scrape off remaining toner.
The toner is collected into the collecting section for waste toner.
BCR cleaning

Cleaning Roll, which is made of sponge, contacts the BCR surface and scrape off the
remaining toner. The toner is collected into the collecting section for waste toner.
 Charge cleaning
If electrical charge remains on the Drum, the Drum surface cannot be charged
uniformly in the charging process when the Drum is charged by the BCR, and may
cause print quality deficiency. Electrical remanence on the Drum is removed by
exposing the light from the Erase Lamp (LED ASSY) to the Drum surface.
