3.2.1  FIP
FIP is provided as the first step to identify the cause of the trouble. FIP is a guide for 
proceeding with troubleshooting while checking error codes and various other 
symptoms of trouble.
3.2.2  The flow of FIP

Ask the operator about the conditions of the trouble.
Was the operator operating the printer correctly?
Instruct the operator how to operate the printer.
Is it an image quality problem?
Take notes on the jam code. 
Make up the trouble with reference to FIP. 
Is it a paper-jam trouble?
Is an error message (error code) displayed on the printer panel?
Perform troubleshooting with reference to
“7.1 Connectors” (p.396)
.
Make up the trouble with reference to
“3.5 Print Quality Trouble FIP” (p.135)
. 
Ask the operator how the jam occurred and execute printing in the 
same manner as s/he did. Does paper jam occur? 
Recheck the trouble condition, and execute preventive 
maintenance with reference to 
“7.1 Connectors” (p.396)
, 
disassembly adjustment, or various information.
Make up the trouble with reference to FIP.
