2.5.1 Paper Cassette
2.5.1.1 Part Names and Functions
GUIDE ASSY SIDE (R/L)
The GUIDE ASSY SIDE (R/L) moves crossways of the paper feed direction, and
trues up the left and right edges of a paper.
GUIDE ASSY CST END
The GUIDE ASSY CST END moves parallel to the paper feed direction, and
determines the paper size. The SWITCH ASSY SIZE turns on/off depending on
the position of the GUIDE ASSY CST END (2.7.1 Paper Size Control (p60)), and
detects the paper size.
ROLL ASSY FEED (Retard Roll)
ROLL ASSY FEED (Retard Roll) and ROLL ASSY FEED (Feed Roll) nip a
paper to prevent multi-feeding.
PLATE ASSY BTM (Bottom Plate)
Bottom Plate is locked to the bottom of the main unit when the paper cassette is
removed, and its lock is released when the paper cassette is installed. Bottom plate
presses paper against the Nudger Roll by spring pressure.
