2.5.4 Transfer Belt & Fuser
2.5.4.1 Part Names and Functions
 FUSER UNIT
The FUSER UNIT fixes the unsteady toner on paper by heat and pressure, and also
transfers the paper before and after the fixing.
The FUSER UNIT mainly consists of the components shown below:
 Exit Sensor
Detects the current position of the fixed paper based on the changes in
position of the Actuator.
 Thermostat
Interrupts the Heater Lamp circuit in the Heat Roll when temperature of the
Heat Roll exceeds predetermined level.
 Temp. Sensor (NCS: Non-contact temp sensor, STS: Soft touch sensor)
NCS (non-contact): Monitors surface temperature of Heat Roll and turns
on/off Heater Lamp.
STS (contact): Monitors surface temperature of Heat Roll and
interrupts the power supply to Heater Lamp when the
temperature rises too high.
 TRANSFER UNIT
The TRANSFER UNIT mainly consists of the components shown below:
