5.5 Handling and Disposal of Batteries
CAUTION

meticulous care when handling the lithium battery. Improper
handling of the lithium battery as mentioned below is
, may result in heat generation, leakage, explosion, or
inflammation, and may cause serious safety problems.
Short-circuit (Polarity; Positive/Negative)
Soldering the terminal of the lithium battery
When disposing of the battery, consult with the professional disposal
services or comply with the local regulation.
Spent battery or not, make sure the battery terminal is insulated. If
the terminal contacts with the other metals, it may short and result in
heat generation, leakage, explosion, or inflammation.
Do not insert or pull out the motor connectors while the power to the
robot system is turned ON. Inserting or pulling out the motor
connectors
the power ON is extremely hazardous and may
result
serious bodily injury as the Manipulator may move
abn
ormally, and also may result in electric shock and/or malfunction
to the robot system, pull out the power plug from
the power source. Be sure to connect the AC power cable to a
power receptacle. DO NOT connect i
t directly to a factory power

ontroller and related equipment, and then pull out the power plug
Performing any replacement procedure with the power ON is
extremely hazardous and may result in
malfunction of the robot system.
Robot Controller
Before starting battery replacement, turn on the controller for approximately one
minute. Perform the replacement within 10 minutes to prevent data loss.
Make sure to use the designated lithium battery.
