6.10 SETTING WIRE-FEED PRESSURE
1. Turn power to the unit ON.
2. Start by making sure that the wire moves smoothly through the wire guide.
3. Check that the feed-pressure is set correctly, feed out the wire against an insulated
object, e.g. a piece of wood.
4. ADJUSTING FOR MINIMUM ROLLER PRESSURE:
When you hold the welding torch approximately ¼ in. (6 mm) from the piece of
wood (Figure 6-23), the wire-feed rollers should slip. If they don’t reduce the
tension on the wire by adjusting the Tension Knob on the Wire-Feed Assembly.

This procedure requires the unit be powered ON.
The gas does not need to be connected for this
CAUTION
It is important that the feed-pressure is not too high or too low.
