B.1.2 Remote Controller operating mode
A CPX-FEC or CPX-CEC integrated into the CPX terminal takes
over co ntrol of the terminal (also described as “IO controller”)
as the local co ntroll er of a larger system, for example.
Requirements for this operating mode:
– A control blo ck CPX-FEC or CPX-CEC is a component of the
CPX terminal.
– Make sure the DIL switches of the bus nodes and control
block are set in accordance with the operating mode
Section 1.4.2, Tab. 1/1 as well as Tab. 1/4 and descrip-
tion P.BE-CPX-FEC or P.BE-CPX-CEC.
– Observe the co nf i gurati o n notes in secti o n 2.10.
The bus node takes over the co nnection to PROFINET, if ne-
cessary, that is not required for operation of the CPX terminal
in the Remote Controller operating mode. The connection to
PROFI N ET or the higher-level network provides supplement-
ary functions in this operating mode:
– A higher-order controll er can use this interface, for ex-
ample, to call up status information of the valve terminal
and to adjust or optimise the controller with other system
parts correspondingly.
– The control block thereby communicates at the fieldbus
level over a data field of 8 or 16 I/O bytes in size, such as
with a PROFINET- IO controll er or a higher-level co ntroll er.
