2.3 Addressing
2.3.1 Basic rules for addressing
The bus node counts as a module with 0 inputs and 0 out-
puts when the status bits and the I/O diagnostic interface
are deactivated.
Observe the instructions regarding address assignment in
section 2.2.
The address assignment of the inputs does not depend
on the address assignment of the outputs.
–Countingmodule-oriented, from left to right
(corresponding to the physical sequence)
Addressing byte-by-byte: Modul es with less than 8 bits
occupy 8 bits or 1 byte of address space, but do not u se
this space completely.
The I/Os of di fferent module types are assigned separ-
ately from each other. Observe the sequence of address-
ing: see Tab. 2/9.
