2.6.3 A ssign “Device Name”
The subsequent steps and related illustrations differ by con-
troller, firmware and software used.
Useofthedevicename YoucanassignorchangeadevicenamefortheCPXtermin-
al in the next step . This devi ce name is also stored on the
memory card of the bus node.
Using this device name, you can also directly address the CPX
terminal , e.g. in your auto mation programs. Alternatively, you
can also use the IP address or the MAC-ID for addressing
purposes  Information about addressing can be found in
the sections 2.6.5 and 2.6.6.
If you have allocated a device name in the course of localising
and identifying the CPX terminal (see secti o n 2.6.1), yo u can
skip the steps 6. and 7..
Assign device name 6. Double click on the symbol of the CPX terminal 3.
The “Properties – CPX” window is displayed
(see Fi g. 2/4).
