12.1 Terms and Formula Symbols
This chapter explains the most common terms and symbols in -ferrite
content measurement and related fields (e.g., quality assurance). In
some cases, alternate terms or synonyms are mentioned in parentheses.
-Martensit Content
Between the measured -ferrite content and the -Martensite content
there are a correlation /28/. The following equation is used for conver-
sion the measured -ferrite content (Fe%) to the -Martensite content
(M%, quantity %):
²-Test Chi squared test (c²-Test)
AC adapter
The FERITSCOPE
®
FMP30 can be connected to a power outlet via the
AC adapter.
Accuracy
Qualitative designation for the degree of approximation of a measure-
ment result to the true value. Usually, the accuracy is divided into
Trueness (Accuracy of the mean) and Precision.

Trueness

and the mean value of a measurement
result generally obtained under practi-
cal circumstances.
