Note
Make sure to not interchange the coils or valves between
apply/release valves.
a. Use a 3/4 inch wrench and remove the coil-retaining nut from the
control valve (apply) coil or (release) coil . This should only be hand
tight or very loosely tightened with a 3/4 inch wrench.
b. Remove the coil for the valve to be inspected or replaced.
c. Remove the four screws with a # 2 Phillips screwdriver and remove
entire valve assembly.
d. Inspect the valve by using a 7/8 inch deep socket or open wrench to
remove the valve stem from the valve base .
To install the valves, reverse these steps.
Inspect the Control Valves
To inspect the control valves, see Figure 37:
1. After the control valve is removed as detailed in the Removing Control Valves
section, inspect the valve-body surface and valve-base orifice to make
sure no damage, particles, or contamination exists. The Product ships with
blue color material on the valve body .
2. Make sure the shim is installed in the valve shaft. If not installed, poor
control and a loud buzzing sound in the control results.
3. Verify the valve assembly order .
