Before starting work, switch off all devices and components involved and dis-
connect them from the grid.
▶
Secure all devices and components involved so they cannot be switched back
on.
▶
After opening the device, use a suitable measuring instrument to check that
electrically charged components (such as capacitors) have been discharged.

All cables, leads and hosepacks must always be securely connected, unda-
maged and correctly insulated.
▶
Only use adequately dimensioned cables, leads and hosepacks.

Danger due to insufficient ground conductor connection.
This can result in serious personal injury and damage to property.

The housing screws provide a suitable ground conductor connection for
grounding the housing.
▶
The housing screws must not under any circumstances be replaced by other
screws without a reliable ground conductor connection.
General Observe the following points to ensure the auto-transformer gives you years of
troublefree operation:
Carry out a safety inspection at the specified intervals (see „Safety rules“ chap-
ter in the power source instruction manual)
At every start-
up

Check the mains plug and mains cable for damage

Check that there is a gap of 0.5 m (1 ft. 8 in.) all around the device to ensure
that cooling air can flow and escape unhindered
