Passive AGSS
Always verify the proper operation of any gas scavenging
system. Make sure that the scavenging system is not
occluded.
The optional passive anesthesia gas scavenging system (AGSS) is
for use in operating room environments that do not have an active
gas extraction system for waste gas disposal. The passive AGSS
contains both positive and negative pressure relief valves to protect
the breathing system and the patient.
Passive AGSS may be used with a non-recirculating ventilation
system for waste gas disposal. The tube connection from passive
AGSS to the non-recirculating ventilation system should be an open
connection, essentially at atmospheric pressure. For example, to an
exhaust grill.
Connecting passive AGSS
1.
Connect a large diameter tube to the 30-mm tapered connector
on the bottom of the AGSS receiver.
2. Route the large diameter tube from the passive AGSS to
exterior of the building or to a non-recirculating ventilation
system.
The tube should be as large in diameter and as short as
possible.
