84 ADV100 • Functions description and parameters list
During the direct current injection phase the kinetic energy of the motor is dissipated as heat in the motor.
The following parameters allow complete control of the function.
Menu PAR Description UM Type FB BIT Def Min Max Acc Mod
22.2.1 3150 DCbrakingcmdsrc LINK 16 6000 0 16384 ERW FVS
This parameter is used to select the origin (source) of the DCbrakingcmd signal. The signal to be associated with
this function can be selected from the “L_DIGSEL2” selection list.
If the command is activated (=1) DC braking is enabled.
In the default condition the origin of the DCbrakingcmd signal is 6000 (disabled).

Setting of the direct current braking mode.
0 Off
1 At Stop
2 On Command
3 OnCmd & AtStop
If set to 0 the direct current injection phase is never executed.
If set to 1 the direct current injection phase is executed when the stop command is sent and the speed reference
threshold = zero has been reached.
Example:
With the motor running at any speed, when the stop command is enabled the ramp output decreases according to
the selected ramp time. When the speed reference threshold = zero is reached PAR 934Riferimento=0 the direct
current injection phase is enabled and direct current injection starts after a delay set in PAR 3154DCbrakedelay.
PAR 3156DCbrakeduration is used to congure the duration of the injection phase and PAR 3158DCbrakecur-
rent is used to congure the intensity of the injection phase current.
In “OnCommand” mode the direct current injection phase is executed when the DCbrakingcmd congured using
parameter PAR 3150DCbrakingcmdsrc is sent.
Example:
Motor running driven by load. When the drive is enabled and the DCbrakingcmd is sent the direct current injec-
tion phase is activated. When the command is enabled and after the delay congured in PAR 3154DCbrakedelay
direct current injection starts. PAR 3156DCbrakeduration is used to congure the duration of the injection phase
and PAR 3158DCbrakecurrent is used to congure the intensity of the injection phase current.
If the command is an impulse shorter than the time set with PAR 3156DuratafrenaturaDC, the direct current injec-
tion phase continues at least for the time set in parameter 3156DCbrakeduration.
If the command is an impulse longer than the time set with 3156DCbrakeduration, the direct current injection
phase continues for as long as the command is present.
In “OnCmd&AtStop” modes the direct current injection phase is executed when one of the two conditions de-
scribed in the“AtStop” or “OnCommand” modes is present.

22.2.3 3154 DCbrakedelay s FLOAT 0.5 0.01 30.0 ERW FVS
This parameter is used to congure the delay in seconds between the moment DC braking is requested and the mo-
ment direct current injection starts. This delay enables the motor to demagnetise, and thus avoid an overcurrent due
to the electromotive force of the motor (e.f.m.).
The value of this parameter, added to parameter 3156 DCbrakeduration, must be lower than the value of param-
eter 1006 Speed0disabledly, otherwise direct current injection will stop when the drive is disabled.
